SecProTec East Africa 2015 powered by Intersec - 61 participating companies (growth of 35 %) from 17 nations and 1,407 visitors from 9 nations

SecProTec East Africa powered by Intersec took place for the third time. The first edition in partnership with Messe Frankfurt and its world famous brand “Intersec” proved to be the leading security business platform for the whole East and Central African region. From 9th – 11th July 2015, 61 local and international companies showed their latest products and innovations to the security industry. The companies represented 17 different countries - Belgium, Canada, China, Denmark, Finland, Germany, India, Israel, Kenya, Portugal, South Africa, Spain, Taiwan, UAE, UK, USA and Uganda.

1.407 trade visitors and government bodies mostly from Kenya, but also from Ethiopia, Somalia, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and the United Arab Emirates, attended the exhibition and conference in the Kenyatta International Convention Centre – an increase of 7 % compared to SecProTec 2014. The exhibitor profile covered industry fields like fire fighting & prevention equipment, homeland security equipment, police equipment, commercial security like CCTV and access control systems, IT & Data protection systems, personal protection equipment and personal security services.

SecProTec joined also forces with the organizer of GPEC® & CCExpo® to complement especially the Homeland Security, Policing and Information Security sectors at SecProTec East Africa powered by Intersec. The creation of a GPEC®-CCExpo®-Pavilion with totally 7 companies providing security solutions for those sectors was successfully established.

Alongside the exhibition, visitors joined the high level conference program to gather information about security for data storage, unauthorized wireless communication or effective organizational counter surveillance. Well-known international speakers presented projects and future solutions. The chairman of the conference was Mr. Enock Makanga, Regional Counter Terrorism Adviser of Impact Solutions Africa.

Messe Frankfurt baut Portfolio in Afrika weiter aus - Premiere der Sicherheitsfachmesse „SecProTec East Africa powered by Intersec“ im Juli 2015

Nach dem Erwerb einer Tochtergesellschaft einschließlich mehrerer Veranstaltungen in Südafrika Mitte des Jahres baut die Messe Frankfurt ihr Portfolio auf dem Kontinent weiter aus. Trade & Fairs Consulting GmbH, planetfair GmbH + Co. KG, Veranstalter der einzigen Sicherheitsfachmesse in Ostafrika, und die Messe Frankfurt gehen eine strategische Partnerschaft ein. Ab 2015 wird die Fachmesse erstmals unter dem Namen „SecProTec East Africa powered by Intersec“ ausgerichtet. Die Veranstaltung wird vom 9. bis 11. Juli 2015 im Kenyatta International Conference Center (KICC) Nairobi, Kenia, durchgeführt.

Promising start of SecProTec East Africa 2013 - Trade show for Security, Protection & Technology

East Africa’s only dedicated trade fair for the security and safety industry took place from 25th to 27th of September 2013 in Nairobi, Kenya.

60 international companies from America, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Africa gave credit to the German/Kenyan organizers Trade and Fairs East Africa and planetfair Group and have been rewarded for their participation with a high profile and high quality 3 days B2B-event.

“Security Systems, Security Equipment, Security Services, fire safety, IT security and integrated security solutions were on display on a level that the region hasn’t witnessed so far.” was stated by Skander Negasi, CEO of Trade and Fairs East Africa, Nairobi. Worldwide technology leaders like Honeywell or Tyco, Kenya’s leading security association KSIA, South Africans renowned Textile Cluster or electronic fence provider Nemtek were among the participants. Strong support came from the Kenyan Ministry of Commerce various Kenyan government authorities and from the East African Community

Ingo Klöver, CEO of German based planetfair Group said: “Although SecProTec East Africa was the first of its kind and took place under the tragically circumstances of the Westgate terror attack in a Nairobi mall participants were pleased with the results of the show and underlined to support an even stronger and bigger event in 2014.”

820 government personal, authorities and trade buyers from various East African countries have visited the show despite the attack of the Westgate shopping mall and three days of official mourning which were set exactly during the show dates. Ministers, Ex-Ministers, Association managers, security managers from companies such as Safari.com and media visited the fair to purchase, to inform and to exchange intellectual knowledge alongside a two days conference held at the same time.

All in all, the event came at the right time after 6 years of steady and substantial growth in East Africa accompanied by challenges in security and safety and especially after the incident in Westgate it is a regions “must-have” event!

Organizers announced onsite that next SecProTec will be held in autumn 2014. Dates will be published soon.

The joint venture starts with the international trade show on Security, Protection and Technology called SecProTec East Africa 2013. In cooperation with the Kenyan government, the Ministry for East African Community (EAC) and the Kenya Security Industry Association (KSIA), the exhibition will take place from 25th to 27th September 2013 in Nairobi, Kenya. The international trade exhibition will speed up existing potential and development in the East and Central African region and bring together international business partners.
